Abstract: The standard requires employers to monitor employee exposure to acrylonitrile (AN), to provide medical surveillance, to train workers about the hazards of AN, and to establish and maintain accurate records of worker exposure to AN. These records are used by employers, workers, physicians, and the Government to ensure that workers are not harmed by exposure to AN.

There is also a decrease in cost from $180,946 to $146,718 due to a reduction in the number of workers receiving exposure monitoring and medical examinations.
