Abstract: The standard requires employers to monitor employee exposure to acrylonitrile (AN), to provide medical surveillance, to train workers about the hazards of AN, and to establish and maintain accurate records of worker exposure to AN. These records are used by employers, workers, physicians, and the Government to ensure that workers are not harmed by exposure to AN.

Short Statement: The agency is requesting an adjustment increase of 12,087 burden hours (from 2,619 hours to 14,706 hours). The increase in burden is due to an increase in the number of employees and the number of establishments. In addition, the estimated capital cost to the employer has increased from $208,077 to $1,164,653, a total increase of $956,576. This increase is due to an increase in the number of workers being sampled and receiving medical exams.
