The FTC is requesting an overall increase of approximately 60,000 annual burden hours ([from 127,143 in 2008 to 187,114 in 2011], for the reasons discussed below.
(a) Applications to the Commission:
Staff is requesting an adjustment of 50 hours more based on a slight increase in the number of applications that are expected to come to the Commission.
(b) Complaint Systems:
The estimated annual hour burden is adjusted up a little [from 127,143 in 2008 to 187,064 in 2011], largely because there are more estimated consumer complaints from the public.
(c) Program Evaluations:
Competition AdvocacyÂThere is no change.
Divestiture ReviewÂBecause of a program change--staff now conducts now fewer annual reviews--the estimated burden goes down by approximately 100 hours.
(d) Applicant Background Form - Due to a program change, staff will now use an interagency form where the originating agency is now responsible for obtaining PRA approval. This change will drop the estimate annual burden hours by 292 hours.
