Form 5500 is an annual information return filed by employee benefit plans.
EBSA updated the numbers to reflect the most recent filing data and wage rates for service providers that prepare the form. For the IRS, this resulted in a 2,000 hour burden reduction due to a slightly decreased number of filings and a $4,000,000 cost burden increase that reflects increased wage rates.
Changes were also made to correct inconsistencies with previous computations; the estimated number of responses is being decreased by 335 and the estimated burden hours are being increased by 2,972 hours.
