Abstract: THE SURVEY COLLECTS RENTAL PRICE CHANGE DATA WHICH IS A MAJOR, ESSENTIAL ELEMENT IN THE CONSUMER PRICE INDEX. A NEW SURVEY HOUSING UNIT IS TO BE IMPLEMENTED IN APRIL 1982 TO TEST ALTERNATIVES FOR RENTAL EQUIVALENCY.
