This is a reinstatement, with change, of a previously approved collection for which approval has expired. This collection expired on January 31, 2026. This information collection is required to administer and operate this program in accordance with the Child Nutrition Act. The program is administered at the State agency level. Reports submitted and records maintained include agreements, financial reports, and the maintenance of accounting records for State Administrative Funds (SAE). The USDA Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) administers the Child Nutrition Programs (CNP). FNS originally expected to submit this collection for review before it expired. As such, FNS expected to make two changes to the collection. One was to reduce the number of respondents for the reporting requirement at 235.7(b). The other change adjusts the frequency of the responses for the recordkeeping requirement at 235.7(a). FNS estimated that these changes would reduce the responses and burden hours for this collection.
US Code:
42 USC 1776
Name of Law: Child Nutrition Act of 1966 (Section 7)
This is a reinstatement, with change, of a previously approved collection for which approval has expired. This collection expired on January 31, 2026. As such, it currently has zero responses and burden hours. With this reinstatement, FNS estimates that this collection will have 1,215 responses and 2,155 burden hours due to a program change related to a potential violation of the PRA. Before the expiration, this collection had 3,291 responses and 6,306 burden hours. FNS estimated that reductions in the number of respondents for the reporting requirement at 235.7(b) and a reduction in the frequency of responses for a recordkeeping requirement at 235.7(a) would reduce the burden for this collection. FNS estimated that there would be 2,076 fewer responses and 4,151 fewer burden hours due to these two changes and that they would be due to administrative adjustments. These reductions would result in final estimates of 1,215 responses and 2,155 burden hours for the collection.
