Abstract: About 3500 event sponsors will continue to submit permit applications to their local Coast Guard Sectors for organized events held on navigable waterways of the U.S. The Coast Guard uses the information to consider impacts on navigation and the environment and develop measures to mitigate those impacts. Permits may be submitted via email. 33 U.S.C. 1233 is the authority for this collection.

Short Statement: There was not a substantial change in the expected burden. The COVID-19 pandemic prevented many marine events and public gatherings from occurring. A relative spike in permitted events followed as the nation slowly returned to normal life.
