The Aluminum Import Monitoring and Analysis (AIM) System is vital to facilitate the real-time monitoring of aluminum imports in a volatile market. AIM will operate under the authority vested as part of the Census Act (13 U.S.C. 301(a) and 302). The Aluminum Import License Application collects the necessary information. If the total value of the covered aluminum portion of an entry is less than $5000, applicants may use a low-value license in lieu of a regular import license.
US Code:
13 USC 301(a) and 302
Name of Law: Collection And Publication Of Foreign Commerce And Trade Statistics
There have been no program changes or adjustments since the last request. Rather, changes to the total burden hours are based on a review of the number of licenses completed since the prior request. This updated information was used to derive annualized estimates, and the annualized estimates were used to calculate an updated estimate of total burden hours. The form requirements, and the estimated form completion time, are unchanged since the previous request.
