USCIS uses the data collected on this form to determine which employers will be informed that they may submit a USCIS Form I-129, Petition for Nonimmigrant Worker, for H-1B classification.
As a result of the analysis conducted for the H-1B NPRM, part of the increase in the total estimated annual time burden is due to an increase in the number of estimated respondents submitting registrations for both businesses and attorneys. The remainder of the increase in total estimated annual time burden stems from an increase in the estimated average burden per response from 0.5167 hours to 0.6 hours due to additional information required for registration. The proposed changes would be the result of the addition of filing and verification for submission instructions, two questions about beneficiary passport country of issuance and passport expiration date, clarifying language regarding denying or revoking approval of H-1B petitions, passport instructional language, and the deletion of two questions regarding the beneficiaryâs country of birth and if beneficiary does not have a passport number. There are no other proposed program changes.
There are no proposed changes in the total estimated annual cost burden as a result of the H-1B NPRM.
