The CPSC is charged with protecting the public against dangers associated with consumer products. CPSC seeks to better understand consumersâ understanding of specific warning labels related to products intended for infants and how those labels influence behavior. Research is needed to understand the gap in consumer knowledge about product warning labels and their adherence to and behaviors associated with them. This survey will provide information on the subject. Findings may be used to help refine and enhance warning labels to effectively convey critical information about product warnings in the future. Additionally, this work will serve to further CPSCâs overall mission of protecting the public against dangers associated with consumer products.
This effort is a one-time data collection, with voluntary survey response burden. Without the information collection requested for this project, CPSC staff could face difficulties in developing effective strategies and best practice approaches for delivering warnings to caregivers of infants.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that the collection of information encompassed by this request complies with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR 1320.8(b)(3).
