This is a new information collection related to minimizing Endangered Species Act-listed salmon bycatch in the Pacific Coast groundfish fishery. Cooperatives or groups of Pacific whiting fishery vessels could voluntarily submit Salmon Mitigation Plans (SMP) for approval by NMFS as one way to access a reserve of Chinook salmon. The collection specifically relates to submission of any SMP proposals, amendments, appeals, and postseason reports.
