The Aleutian Islands pollock fishery was allocated to the Aleut Corporation, Adak, Alaska, for the purpose of economic development in Adak, Alaska. The Aleut Corporation is identified in Pub. L. 108Â199 as a business incorporated pursuant to the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (43 U.S.C. 1601 et seq.). The statute requires the Aleut Corporation's approval for participants and limits participation to American Fisheries Act qualified entities and vessels less than or equal to 60 ft overall length with certain endorsements.
We now have a respondent, and thus a full burden rather than a placeholder.

Adjustments reflect the most recently available data. The previous request (2015 renewal of this information collection) used a placeholder burden of one hour for the participant letter since no AI pollock fishery had occurred since 2011 due to lack of fish. Directed fishing for AI pollock allocated to the Aleut Corporation did occur in 2018, and the annual cost and time burden have been revised to reflect that harvest has resumed.
