This information collection enables APHIS to document the movement history of an animal throughout its life. Knowing where diseased and at-risk animals are -- as well as where they have been and when -- is indispensable during an emergency response and for ongoing disease programs.

There is an overall increase of 7,515,055 responses and 475,136 burden hours due to adjustments and potential violations of the Paperwork Reduction Act (entered in ROCIS as program changes).
Adjustments: The âDevelop ADT Roadmap using templates â States and Tribal Governmentsâ hours per response increased from 4 to 8 hours resulting in an increase of 216 burden hours. The âRemoval or Replacement of Eartagâ for both State and Tribal Governments and Businessesâ burden increased 163 burden hours to more accurately reflect activities. The âDHIA Tag Application Record â Businessesâ burden decreased 2,192 hours due to more accounting of hours per response.
Potential Violations of the Paperwork Reduction Act (entered in ROCIS as Program Changes): 22 burden items have been added to this information collection for first time resulting in 7,514,682 additional responses and 476,949 additional burden hours. They were previously covered under 0579-0259 and 0579-0388 which have expired.
