Abstract: The Rural Energy for America Program, which supersedes the Renewable Energy Systems and Energy Efficiency Improvements Program under Title IX, Section 9006 of the Farm Security and Rural Investment Act of 2002, is designed to help agricultural producers and rural small business reduce energy cost and consumption, develop new income streams, and help meet the nation's critical energy needs by requiring the Secretary of Agriculture to provide grants and/or guaranteed loans for several types of projects.

Short Statement: The total estimated hours to respond decreased 2,415 from 112,401 to 109,986. Responses also decreased from 42,909 to 40,217, a decline of 2,692. This decrease is due to the reduction of forms and realignment of submission which correlates with the total project costs. The total costs are $5,913,947, an increase of $1,899,118 from the current approved burden, which can be accounted through a more accurate fully-loaded wage estimate.
