Forest Industry census collects current consumptive and non-consumptive timber use levels from public and private lands to evaluate trends in resource levels.
The collection provides timber industry representatives, researchers, natural resource analysts, and decision makers with continuing comprehensive assessments of the present and future demand for renewable wood resources, from both public and private timberlands, in order to forecast future supplies and analyze changes in demand.
Respondents are primary wood-using industries.

Burden hours decreased overall by -587 hours. The decrease is a result of a decrease in mills that are operating; all regions revised the non-pulp mill form creating a shorter version aimed at smaller mills; and the Southern region is now collecting information for pulpmills nationwide using a revised form tailored to pulpmills.
