The Alternative Fuels Rule ("Rule") requires disclosure of specific information on labels posted on fuel dispensers for non-liquid alternative fuels. To ensure the accuracy of these disclosures, the Rule also requires that sellers maintain records substantiating product-specific disclosures they include on these labels. The Commission seeks to extend for an additional three years the current OMB clearance for these information collection requirements of the Rule.
Statute at Large:
106 Stat. 2776
Name of Statute: Energy Policy Act of 1992
Changes in burden associated with the Rule are due to market changes, specifically an increase in alternative fuels dispensers and a large expansion of the electric vehicle market, which has added thousands of new charging stations and associated companies.
