This information collection is necessary for CBP to account for, and track user fees required from private and commercial vessels, private aircraft, operators of commercial trucks, and passenger and freight railroad cars entering the U.S.
US Code:
19 USC 58c
Name of Law: Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act
The estimated number of applicants for Form 33C (Vehicles) increased from 50,000 to 90,000 as a result of a new pilot program allowing a new payment option for commercial truck single-crossing user fees. The new pilot program allows carriers who opt for the single-crossing user fee to prepay the single-crossing user fee online via the DTOPS website prior to arrival at a port of entry. As a result, more respondents will be using the DTOPS website (Form 339C) to prepay the user fees.
