Abstract: Per Interim Final Rule 0648-BF73, the cerification accompanying Form 370 is being reworded to state that “no purse seine net or other fishing gear was intentionally deployed on or used to encircle dolphins during the fishing trip in which the tuna were caught, and that no dolphins were killed or seriously injured in the sets or other gear deployments in which the tuna were caught.” Also, “the Captain of the vessel has completed the NMFS Tuna Tracking and Verification Program dolphin-safe captain’s training course.”

Adjustment: There is an increase of 500 responses (from 12,500 to 13,000) and166 hours, as well as $626 in recordkeeping/reporting costs, due to an increase in the total number of responses received each year since the last estimation was made.
