The FERC-725A collection contains the paperwork requirements and associated burden hours for many of the nationwide Reliability Standards, including many of the VAR group of standards. The Commission is phasing in the creation of new collection nos. for each group of Reliability Standards. In this submission the Commission is removing part of burden associated with the IRO standards in FERC-725A and adding the same amount of burden to a new collection ,FERC-725Z (OMB Control No. 1902-0276), in a separate ICR).
The increase in the number of responses is due to natural changes and fluctuations in the industry. The changes to standards were directed in previous Commission orders in order to increase reliability of the bulk-power system. These changes were voted on by the industry as necessary for maintaining reliability.
