The Occupational Requirements Survey (ORS) is a nationwide test survey being conducted by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) at the request of the Social Security Administration. Estimates from this test will be used by SSA to determine how to use updated requirements in administering the Social Security Disability Insurance program.

The increase of burden of 477 hours is due to additional testing required to clarify wording for the cognitive elements and to ensure high levels of reliability, validity and accuracy through job observations.
