The Wool Products Labeling Act of 1939 prohibits the misbranding of wool products. The Wool Rules establish disclosure requirements that assist consumers in making informed purchasing decisions and recordkeeping requirements that assist the Commission in enforcing the Rules.
There is a substantial upward adjustment in estimated burden due to a revision in the industry association's estimates of the time needed to comply with the Rule. The American Apparel and Footwear Association, which also assisted with recent and prior clearance burden estimates, is a national trade association which represents U.S. apparel, footwear and other sewn products companies and their suppliers.
