Abstract: National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Alaska Region created the Federal Fisheries Permit (FFP) and Federal Processor Permit for use in the Alaska EEZ groundfish fisheries. These permits provide NMFS with a way to monitor participation in groundfish fisheries. Per RIN 0648-AX98, certain FFP and FPP document processes have been simplified, and there will be time savings to government.
