The SS-5 and SSNAP System collect information to issue original or replacement Social Security cards.
We are making minor changes to the SSNAP System to allow the new Social Security Number (SSN) printout. The SSN printout is a single-page document displaying a person's name and SSN. Currently our technicians print this out upon verbal request; however, we are modifying SSNAP to allow us to document these print-outs and record the identification proof the respondent supplies.
US Code:
42 USC 405
Name of Law: Social Security Act
SSA is adding a new pilot program for individuals who wish to request an SSN printout. See Justification for the Non-Substantive Changes for more details.
