MSHA is proposing to revise the Agency's examination requirements to include identifying and correcting violations of manadatory health and safety standards. Records of tests and examinations are necessary to ensure that the ventilation system is being maintained and that changes which could adversely affect the integrity of the system or the safety of the miners are not occuring.
The previously approved supporting statement from April 2010 had an Annual Cost Burden of $66 million. However, the number in ROCIS was errorously entered as $214,627.
