This information collection request (ICR) represents the consolidated burden for information collections cleared under 25 separate OMB Control Numbers. The ICR was developed for administrative ease allowing development of a single item intended for OMB to file comment upon and provide public clarity within the confines of the Standards Improvement Project-Phase III rulemaking. At the final rule stage DOL intends to submit an individual ICR under each Control Number, in order demonstrate the burden reduction within the ROCIS system.
The purpose of the Standards Improvement Project  Phase III rulemaking is to remove and revise provisions, including collections of information, contained in the affected standards that are outdated, duplicative, unnecessary, or inconsistent, or can be clarified or simplified by being written in plain language. The collections of information requirements being proposed for removal are for employers to transfer worker exposure monitoring and medical records to the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, and the removal of training record certifications.
