This information collection's application forms are used by for-hire motor carriers of regulated commodities, freight forwarders, property brokers, and certain Mexican motor carriers to register their operations with the FMCSA. It is being revised due to a final rulemaking entitled, "Elimination of Route Designation Requirement for Motor Carriers Transporting Passengers over Regular Routes," which will discontinue the requirement for motor carriers to submit a detailed description and map of the route(s) over which they operate.
This program change decrease of 773 annual burden hours is due to a final rulemaking that will eliminate the route designation requirement for motor carriers transporting passengers over regular routes. In addition, the respondents' annual cost will decrease from $7,299,000 to $7,291,500 due to the elimination of the regular route designation requirement.
