Permitting, Vessel Identification And Vessel Monitoring System Requirements For The Commercial Bottomfish Fishery In The Commonwealth Of The Northern Mariana Islands
New collection (Request for a new OMB Control Number)
All commercial fishermen who fish for bottomfish management unit species in Federal waters around the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands must register their vessel to a Federal bottomfish fishing permit issued by National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS). Vessel owners and/or operators of medium and large commercial bottomfish vessels must use shipboard vessel monitoring system (VMS) units on vessels over 40 ft (12.2 m), and mark their vessel with their official number in block lettering in three locations.
