Regulations at 50 CFR 622.6 and 640.6 require that all vessels with Federal permits to fish in the Southeast display the vessel's official number. The markings must be in a specific size at specified locations. The display of the identifying markings aids in fishery law enforcement.
US Code:
16 USC 1881
Name of Law: Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act as amended in 2006
Burden and cost are reduced due to no longer requiring color coding on fish trap vessels. In addition, in ROCIS, there appears to be an adjustment  an increase of $220. This is due to the costÂs having been rounded down to the nearest thousand when the ICR was migrated to ROCIS.
