To combat escalating levels of chronic diseases associated with overweight, poor nutrition, and physical inactivity, the Centers for Disease Control, Division of Nutrition and Physical Activity, proposes to conduct a series of focus groups with elementary and middle school children and their parents, and with parents of young children ages 2-4 years. The focus groups will explore attitudes abouat nutritious foods, factors that influence decisions about food choices, and the role of family dynamics in decisions about food choices. The information will be used to develop public health messages to promote healthy food choices.
