This regulation promulgates the policies and procedures or real estate title clearance and closing of loans, assumptions, voluntary conveyances, and credit sales in connection with insured loans. This regulation does not apply to guaranteed loans.
The adjustment is a result of 1) a decrease in appropriations that impacts the number of loans to be closed; 2) correction in number of field offices involved in loan closings and 3) a shift from using attorney's opinions to the use of title insurance.
