The Consumer Product Safety Act, Federal Hazardous Substances Act, and Flammable Fabrics Act require that prior to exporting noncomplying products, the exporter must first notify CPSC of its intention and the CPSC must, in turn, notify the country of destination.

A review of the average number of export requests in teh last three years indicated an increase in the total number of requests from 55 to 75. This increased the industry record keeping burden by 20 hours per year.
