NRC regulations in 10 CFR Part 71, establish requirements for packing, preparation for shipment, and transportation of licensed material, and prescribe procedures, standards, and regulations for approval by NRC of packaging and shipping procedures for fissile material and for quantities of licenses material in excess of Type A quntities.
The overall burden decreased by 1 hour from 42,897 to 42,896 hours because of an adjustment due to an addition error when the final amendments to Part 71 became effective on October 1, 2004. The reporting burden decreased by 1 hour from 37,305 to 37,304 hours, and the recordkeeping burden remained constant at 5,592 hours. The total number of responses has increased by 217, from 633 to 850 responses because recordkeepers, which were not included in the total number of responses when this package was last sent to OMB for approval in 2003, have been added to the total number of responses.
In addition, the changes in burden cost reflect a increase in NRCÂs recoverable fee rate increased from $158/hr to $216/hr.
