Terms of Clearance: The Census Bureau will finalize the Survey of Plant Capacity Utilization forms/documents including updating all reference period dates and providing a due date on the forms. The Census Bureau will request a no material/nonsubstantive change to a currently approved collection through ROCIS as soon as it modifies and finalizes the IC forms/documents and before they are used to collect information from the public. The documents approved for this ICR are those with the latest date for each individual document type.

Abstract: This survey collects data on plant capacity from a sample of manufacturing and publishing establishments in the United States. The data are used by the Federal Reserve Board and the Defense Logistics Agency. Data are used to measure inflationary pressure, change in capital and capacity growth. Data are also used to assess the ability to meet demands under national emergency situations.
