In accordance with 5 CFR 1320, the information collection is approved. However, at least 15 days prior to the implementation of the field testing, the agency should provide to OMB a summary of the findings from the cognitive interviews, a summary of the changes made to the survey instrument, and the instrument (if it does change) that will be used for the field test. If the agency has further refinements on how the data will be used to create assessment measures or to further nutritional education, the information should also be provided at this time.

ERS has a requirement to conduct formative research to develop dietary behavior measures associated with dietary quality. The measures will assess broad areas of dietary behavior emphasized by Federal dietary guidance provided by the 2005 Dietary Guidelines for Americans, to be applied to consumers.
