Terms of Clearance: OMB approves this collection for two years with the following terms of clearance: FERC has agreed to several changes to its survey design to mitigate the potential for self-selection bias and will draw a sample of 776 entities for follow-up to ensure a representative sample for the AMI survey. FERC will report back to OMB on achieved response rates by strata and on the results of analyses comparing the random sample to the universe of responses. FERC will also note any meaningful differences in its final report to congress.

Abstract: Section 1252 (e)(3) of EPAct 2005 requires FERC to assess demand response resources, including those available from all consumer classes and to publish and submit a report to Congress. A survey is proposed to obtain the needed information on meter saturation and penetrations of advanced meters and communications techno- logies. Advanced metering provides a system that collects time- differentiated energy usage information from advanced meters via a fixed network system and allows electricity customers, utilities to make informed decisions on their paraticipation in and/or provide demand response products, services and programs...
