By collecting basic information about shipping activity and measure of size, the Precanvass for the 2007 CFS will greatly improve the sampling efficiency of auxiliary establishments in the 2007 CFS. In addition, the contact and address information collected for the largest establishments will improve the reporting accuracy and timeliness of this critical component of the 2007 CFS.
