Additionally, as soon as CDC is prepared to incorporate this collection of information into the NHSN system the Agency shall submit an 83-D discontinuing this collection.

CDC has developed a surveillance system that focuses on exposures and infections among hospital-based health care workers. Its purpose is to assess risk of occupational exposures and infections, monitor trends, and identify and evaluate preventive measures.
