Abstract: The Mexican fruit fly regs are being amended by designating a portion of San Diego, CA as a regulated area and restricting the interstate movement of regulated articles from that area. We are also amending the regulations to provide for the use of irradiation as a treatement for fruits listed as regulated articles. This action will provide an additional option for qualifying those regulated articles for movement from the regulated areas.
