The Forest Service needs to change its racial/ethnicity question to comply with OMB's 2003 guidelines. The "other" category must be deleted, and the instruction must be modified to allow the option of choosing more than one category. Additionaly, the Hispanic/Latino/Spanish ethnicity question must be separated from the racial question. The FS has committed to making the changes through the surveying protocols, and changing the actual form at the end of the fiscal year 2003. The FS is expected to submit to OMB the corrected form at that time using a change work sheet.
