Abstract: This new awards and recognition program would establish the first such method for systematically identifying institutions of higher education and other entities that have successfully linked their programs for preparing teachers to improved student achievement at the K-12 level. In response to the current emphasis on heightened academic standards for elementary and secondary students and the need for teachers to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to teach to those standards, this program would identify and highlight exemplary teacher preparation programs that are particularly effective.....
