These regulations notify the mining community of the information requirements regarding a plan of operations, cessation of operations, and a notice of intent. In addition, they discuss the distribution of the information to others, inspections, noncompliance, fire, access, appeals, and operations in a wilderness area. The collections provide information to the authorized officer so that the impact from a mining proposal can be minimized through environmental analysis. We can expect serious, long lasting, and avoidable adverse impacts to be common occurrences without this data collection and through management..
