Abstract: P.L. 98-181 requires lenders to furnish to the borrower a disclosure statement stating that the interest rate on the mortgage may change, identifying the index used, the frequency of adjustments, and provide a hypothetical payment schedule showing increases over the first 5 years. An annual disclosure of interest rate adjustment is also required.
