Terms of Clearance: CPSC has demonstrated that its telephone methodology is likely to achieve adequate response in rural areas where most of the sample is concentrated. However, CPSC must take care in analyzing their results since this sample may not accurately represent ATV owners who primarily reside in urban/suburban areas. There is also a risk of reporting biax due to proxy respondents that must be considered in the analysis.

Abstract: The survey will help CPSC decisionmaking in addressing ATV-related injuries and deaths. The data will be used to evaluate changes in the characteristics and use patterns of ATV drivers over time and to compare with injury data to evaluate risk patterns. The respondents will consist of a nationwide probability sample of ATV drivers.
