The 1997 Economic Census covering the professional, scientific, and technical services; management, support, waste management, and remediation services; educational services; health and social assistance; arts, entertainment, and recreation; and other services, except public administration sectors, will measure the economic activity of more than 2.0 million establishments classified in NAICS. The economic census, conducted under authority of title 13 U.S.C. is the primary source of facts about the structure and functioning of the Nation's economy and features unique industry and geographic detail.
