Abstract: Data collected in this survey provide monthly sales estimates and dollor volume of end-of-month inventory for retail stores. The fiexed panel design will minimize the preliminary-to-final revisions caused by the rotating panels. Sales and inventory estimates are used by government and nongovernment uses in gauging economic trends. These data are not publicly available from other government or nongovernment sources.
