Abstract: This survey will help the Federal Reserve Board to comply with the Congressional mandate that the Board report to the Congress on the advisability of modifying the Expedited Funds Availability Act to extend the maximum permissable hold period for local checks as a means of reducing losses related to check fraud. The respondents will be commercial banks, savings associations, and credit unions.
