The proposed changes will allow importation of embryos for all ruminants. This action will make additional sources of genetic material available to domestic animal breeders. This information required on the health certificate is necessary to obtain a history on the animal that provides the embryos. Information required on the import permit is necessary to make a determination of the disease status of the herd of the embryos parents.
