THE NATIONAL ASSESSMENT OF EDUCATIONAL PROGRESS (NAEP) IS A CONGRESSIONALLY MANDATED DATA COLLECTION OF ASSESSMENT AND BACKGROUND INFORMATION. RESPONDENTS INCLUDE STUDENTS IN THE 4TH, 8TH, AND 12TH GRADES, TEACHERS, AND SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS. CHANGES TO THE CURRENTLY APPROVED COLLECTION INCLUDE TESTING OF PROCEDURES FOR COLLECTION OF INFORMATION FROM STUDENTS WITH IEP AND LEP, NO PARENT DATA COLLECTION, NO ARTS ASSESSMENT IN 1995, AND A STUDY TO MEASURE CHANGES IN THE MATH ASSESSMENT ON TREND.
