Abstract: THE PURPOSE OF FORM C700(SL) IS TO COLLECT THE AMOUNT OF CONSTRUCTION PUT IN PLACE EACH MONTH FROM A NATIONWIDE SAMPLE OF NEW STATE AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS. THESE STATISTICS ARE USED EXTENSIVELY BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT IN MAKING POLICY DECISIONS AND BECOME PART OF THE GROSS DOMESTIC PRODUCT. THEY ARE ALSO USED BY THE PRIVATE SECTOR FOR MARKET ANALYSIS AND OTHER RESEARCH.
