THIS ACTION PROPOSES STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE FOR SOCMI WASTEWATER SOURCES. THE RULE REQUIRES CONTROL OF VOLATILE ORGANIC COMPOUND AIR EMISSIONS FROM WASTEWATER COLLECTION AND TREATMENT OPERATIONS AT NEW, MODIFIED, AND RECONSTRUCTED SOCMI PROCESS UNITS. THE NSPS IS NEEDED TO FILL GAPS IN THE COVERAGE OF VOC EMISSIONS FROM WASTEWATER STREAMS LEFT UNCONTROLLED/REGULATED BY OTHER REGULATIONS.
